Deepika’s initial training in carnatic music was from her mother Geetha Varadarajan and a brief tutelage under Shri O.S.Thyagarajan at the age of five.

In 1997, Deepika came under the tutelage of Sudha Raghunathan. Deepika is a B grade Artist in AIR and holds a bachelors degree in Information Technology from the Anna University. She received the Yuva kala Bharathi in 2011. Deepika has also lent her voice for a few films and television serials.
