Akshay was drawn to music at a very young age. As a five year old, he began learning the nuances of Carnatic classical music. Akshay is currently a disciple of Padma Bhushan P. S. Narayanaswamy. In addition to learning the ways of Carnatic music, Akshay has developed a keen sense of music and musical instruments in general and has composed several of his own fusion creations blending classical notes with popular beats and rhythms.
