Vineeth hails from ‘God’s own country’—Kerala. He was born to professionals, a well known lawyer Late Mr. K.T. Radhakrishnan and a noted Doctor, Mrs. Shantha Kumari.

Vineeth started training in ‘Bharathanatyam’, the Legendary South Indian dance form at the tender age of five, under Guru Chemencheri Kunhiraman Nair & took up further training under the guidance of the reputed guru Kalamandalam Saraswathi of Calicut. He is also trained in ‘Kuchipudi’ and ‘Mohiniyatam’, two other traditional South Indian styles of Dances. At present, he is undergoing advanced training in ‘Bharathanrithyam’ under the tutelage and guidance of the veteran danseuse, Padmabhushan, Dr. Padma Subrhamaniyam. 

He entered films in 1985, when he was in the 10th grade. After his debut film, he won instant recognition as a hero in his second film, ‘Nakakshathangal’ written by Gnana Peettam Award winner Shri. M.T.Vasudevan Nair and directed by the acclaimed director, Hariharan. 

Vineeth took a break from the arc lights of the film industry to concentrate on his studies. He did his schooling in Ooty and Kerala, and then graduated in Commerce from Madras University in the year1991. After his graduation he took up acting as a serious profession by doing films like ‘Aavarampoo’ in Tamil and ‘Sargam’ in Malayalam, which brought him to the limelight. From then on, he has acted as in over hundred films in four South Indian Languages. 

Vineeth has worked with renowned film directors in India, such as G. Aravindan, Shaji N. Karun, Bharathan, K. Balachandar, Hariharan, Fazil, Priyadarshan and Shankar to name a few.

He has also starred in an English Film titled “Bokshu the Myth’ which was viewed all over the World.

Vineeth was the first student to have procured the Kalaprathibha’ Gold Medal for individual championship from the Kerala State Government for the Kerala State Schools Youth festival in 1986. 

He acquired the Best New Face Awarded from the Film Fan’s Association in Tamil Nadu for his outstanding performance in his film ‘Avarampoo’. 

He won the second best actor Award from the Kerala State Film Critics Association for the films ‘Daivathinte Vikruthikal’ and ‘Sargam’. He also won the supporting actor award from the Film Fan’s Association for the films ‘Jathimalli’ and ‘Pudhiyamugam’.

However, his passion for dance was much in evidence, during which he composed, choreographed and performed umpteen number of dance recitals both in India and abroad.

He also had the honour of performing under the Nattuvangum of his revered Guru Padmabushan Dr. Padma Subramaniyam for the prestigious Soorya Dance Festival in Trivandrum and the renowned Bharat Kalachar in, Chennai in 2003.

Vineeth received the Yuva kala Bharathi award for 2006 from Bharat Kalachar in the year 2006 and he was conferred the ‘KALAIMAMANI’ from the Tamil Nadu Government in the year 2007.

Vineeth has acquired  the first rank  for the post graduation  course in Bharathanatyam M.FA, conducted by SASTRA UNIVERSITY, THANJAVUR in the year 2012.
