DANCE TRAINING

Even as a child, K B Madhusudhanan was interested in dance. This led him to his first Bharatanatyam teacher, Mrs. Malarkodi. He later joined Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts in Chennai, where he developed his dance skills along with academics. On completing 5 years of training in Kalakshetra (1989-95), he obtained a certificate for having done a part time course in Bharatanatyam. Even at this stage, he was offered a part in ‘Purush: Expressions of Man’ presented by Arangham Trust in 1996 in which the top male dancers of India participated. This encouraged him to become a professional and he joined Kalakshetra as a full time student with a double promotion. After completing his diploma course in Bharatanatyam (1996-99), he started his career as a dancer.

SKILLS

Apart from dance, Madhusudhanan is interested in furthering his skills in Indian martial arts and Tamil theatre and folk theatre forms. He continues to undergo training in Kalaripayattu and Silambam, the martial arts of Southern India, and attends theatre workshops conducted by various artists. He has great passion for acting and has had the opportunity to work with theatre personalities like Prasanna Ramaswamy.
